
Clinical Practice and Experience:
Dr Das is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Oxford University NHS foundation trust (appointed
2006) and a previous Clinical Lead for Paediatric Anaesthesia. He studied at St
Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, London and trained in anaesthesia in Wessex and
worked as a Fellow in Paediatric Anaesthesia for one year in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.
Clinical Interests:
Dr Das’ clinical interests are within paediatric anaesthesia (all surgical specialities). He has a
special interest in anaesthesia for paediatric craniofacial surgery, neurosurgery and
interventional radiological procedures. Anaesthesia for adults, (all surgical specialities) with a
special interest in anaesthesia for adult cosmetic surgery, ophthalmic surgery and ENT
surgery. His Fellowship year in Paediatric Anaesthesia was in the University of Michigan,
USA (1 year).
Management Experience:
Previous Clinical Lead for Paediatric Anaesthesia Department, Oxford 3.5 years. Current
Chair of Medical Advisory Committee for Nuffield Manor Hospital, Oxford (6 years).
Immediate Past Secretary of Association of Paediatric Anaesthetist of Great Britain and
Ireland (APAGBI) and current President Elect of APAGBI. Member of Expert Advisory Group
for paediatrics, Theatres/HSSU and the National Medical Advisory Group for Nuffield Health.
Teaching and training:
Dr Das has a longstanding interest in online education and training. He has served as the
Co-director of MEPA course (Managing Emergencies in Paediatric Anaesthesia) simulation
course and previously Education Editor for the research journal, Pediatric Anesthesia.
Prizes and Awards:
First Anaesthetist to be elected a member of the European Society for Craniofacial Surgery
(ESCFS).

Medico-Legal Experience
Dr Das has attended the Bond Solon ‘Excellence in Report Writing- written evidence’ course.
He is a case reviewer for adult and paediatric anaesthesia for the General Medical Council.
He has produced multiple investigation reports for Nuffield Health. He is happy to be
instructed by Claimant and Defendant law firms in clinical negligence matters.
Research Interests:
Dr Das has an interest in research of anaesthesia for craniofacial surgery.
